The constable is making local government work for all of us by improved public safety for all Perry Township residents with timely serving of warrants, professional and accurate completion of law enforcement duties, increased transparency to make government more accessible to local residents and common-sense reforms that result in better service for taxpayers.Ĭonstable Taylor provides bailiff services for the Perry Township Judge, serves court papers for the Perry Township Court, supervises evictions, replevins, and writ of attachments. Proper venue of any claim between a landlord and a tenant, including but not limited to: 1.) a claim for rent 2.) possession of real estate 3.) return of property 4.) return of security deposit or 5.) return for damages, shall be in the township where the real estate is located.ĭavid Taylor is the constable of the Perry Township Division of the Marion County Small Claims Court. Proper venue for a case filed in a Marion County Small Claims Court shall: 1.) be in the township where the transaction or occurrence took place 2.) where the obligation was incurred or is to be performed 3.) or where a defendant resides or is employed at the time the complaint is filed. The Small Claims Court may also hear all actions between a landlord and tenant for possession of the premises and to recover rent and damages not exceeding $10,000.
The Small Claims Court has the authority to hear all cases where the amount of money or the value to the property sought to be recovered is $10,000 or less.
